Steam train

Today we went to Sherwood Steam train. It’s a nice little place with a working steam train which we had a lovely ride on

image

Hannah and her grandad even got a chance to pull the chain that made the train  whistle and we also got to look at the furnace

First Words

I’m linking this post to @oliversmadhouse #magicmoments

These are the most eagerly awaited words in the world for every parent. What will it be? Almost ever child will either come out with mummy or daddy.

With my eldest Josiah it was his dad’s name Al

With my second Sam it was mummy so we were 1 child each

Then i became pregnant with out third child and we where both wondering what her first word would be. To be honest there was a bit of rivalry between us, both of us consistently repeating Mama or Dada to her.

As she grow the anticipation was growing What would her first words be?
Then it came. We were pushing her along in her pushchair going to her grandparents us talking about what we were having for dinner, we had just walked round the corner to her house her first word popped out her tiny month, to our complete shock it wasn’t mum or dad — no it was gay-gee as you can imagine we stopped dead in our tracks wondering if we had heard her right, So we repeated it back to “gay-gee” to her just as she had said and no we hadn’t missed heard her, she said it again almost like she was asking a question “gay-gee” to which he replied “yes you can have gravy with your dinner”

To this day it still makes us smile when ever we talk about our children’s first words.

I swing

I’m linking up with @oliversmadhouse #magicmoments

Friday was Hannah’s swimming lesson for months now after leaving the pool she’s been asking if she could go to the park which you can see from inside the swimming baths but the weathers not been great for it

This Friday was different we had SUN and with it being half term we decided to take her to the park it was a bit of a risk as she doesn’t like coming away but we was hoping that with her having swimming lesson straight after it would be a lot easier

First thing she did was run straight for the climbing frames which includes monkey bars these have become a firm favorite with her lately her dads always nearby in case she needs a little help even if she doesn’t want him there always the independent

Next she moved onto the roundabout which didn’t last long spying a free swing and running right over I’m sat on the beach and as soon as i see she’s heading for the swing i wait for the yell mum can you push me but it never came instead she jumped right on and started swing all on her own

it melted my heart to see her do this all by herself after all those years before when the doctors said that she may never walk but then came the words that i had been waiting for mum can you push me which really made me smile 🙂

Before she came off the swings me and her always have a swing together its part of our swing ritual

Then came her 10 minute warning that we would be leaving soon which made her run back to the monkey bars 5 minute warning and she was off everywhere swings slide roundabouts

Time to leave, at first she was reluctant to come off rushing to yet another climbing frame after telling her “that if she didn’t come off the park nicely we won’t be coming back for a while” giving her to the count of 3 and telling her “that she might be late for her swimming lesson” she finally decided to come off to which we told her “because she came off the park nicely we would bring her back soon”

Tooth fairy

Last night hannah’s first tooth came out, it’s been a long time coming, she’s already got 2 grownup teeth which have come through behind her wobbly teeth.

Last night she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth, when she decided to try and pull her tooth out.

She came out very excited, eager to show everyone that her tooth was out and that she had done it herself.

There was a little blood which made her feel sick, but soon the excitement was back, then came the talk about the tooth fairy, and where she wanted to put her tooth.

She decided that she would put it in her window so the tooth fairy could find it easier.

This morning she woke up to find £1:50p and this

brick wall

Imagine wanting to go to a friends house

You get yourself ready socks and shoes on your so excited  you walk to the front door

You open it and your just about to step out when suddenly a brick walk pops up out of no where  right in front of you preventing you from going out as soon as the door shuts the brick wall comes down and the anger comes pure frustion you want to go out but you can’t your whole body screams NO which then leaves you screaming, crying

Not very nice is it

Well this is my child she wants to go out but as soon as the front door is open a brick wall pops up and she just can’t go out unless I’m with her

Even her dad can’t take her anywhere unless I’m there

This happened again today she was so excited that her dad was going to take her to the park but she just couldn’t step foot out of the door

Then come’s the rage furniture was turned upside down, doors slammed, hitting, screaming, for the next  2 hours until finally she had no more left and locked herself in the bathroom where she finally calmed down

This brakes my heart and there’s nothing we can do to help her

some people will say well why don’t you just go with her but this DOESN’T solve the problem

She can’t even go next door to play anymore the brick wall come’s back up  the only time she gets to play is if they come to our house or if I go along to the neighbours with her

So we’ve been trying to get her out with her dad as a way off showing her that  you don’t always need mummy there all the time to have fun and that when she returns mummy’s always there waiting for her, but it’s not working

If anyone has any ideas which might help I’m willing to give anything a go

Out with the old in with the new

For the last few years I’ve been using a computer my old faithful as I used to call it until recently its been slow taking ages to load one page  which has really got on my nerve’s tapping my foot and waiting I was ready to throw the whole thing out the window

Then it started having software problems as well and I finally had enough of it it was time to upgrade instead of having a massive computer at the side of the sofa I thought this time I would go for a laptop with the weather being so nice I could take it outside and sit in the sun without being stuck to being indoors

So I went on the hunt after looking on the internet which I used my nexus for as my old faithful would take so long I found the one on amazon I wanted so I asked hubby to check it out for me and he gave me the ok

I got some money saved up but had to take a little extra out of the bank to go towards it

The best part was that the laptop I wanted had come down in price by £50 it was supposed to be £349 and I got it for £299 so come Tuesday morning the buy button got clicked even better hubby got Amazon’s express service which meant it was coming on Wednesday

Wednesday morning came I took Hannah to school and rushed home eagerly waiting for my laptop I’m sure the delivery trucks where having a laugh every time I looked out the window there was a different truck pulling up and nipping to other houses to deliver there goodies when finally I gave up hope and decided to have some toast I just bit into my first slice when there was a knock on the door I had a quick look out the window and there was a car but no truck I opened the door and there was a woman with my laptop in her hand woohoo after signing for it I couldn’t wait to open it

There she was my little blue lenovo I put the battery in and was surprised as it came fully charged after a quick set up I was on my way and I couldn’t believe how fast the internet was on it and the keyboard very smooth took me a while to get used to using windows 8 but I had definitely made the right choose

Bank holiday fun

Today we was meant to be going to a BBQ but it didn’t quite work out so instead we went to asda to pick something up for tea

While we were there we decided to pick up a BBQ and some sausages that was dinner sorted

We got home and started on dinner the sausages where cooking nicely hannah doesn’t eat meat so she had a cob while we tucked in our lunch

After it was ice creams all round

image

Then we decided it was such a lovely day and what a waste it would be to spend it at home so off to rufford park I packed a snackwich for us to enjoy while we were there

It was packed there was even notices that the car park was full but we managed to find a space

As always we headed straight for the cafe before a look around the shop where hannah brought some bubbles then it was on the the play area

image

She really enjoyed playing in the sand pit

Time was getting short but hannah had noticed that they had bouncy castles out and she wanted to have a go

image

Next it was onto the inflatable slide

image

As we where walking back to the car hannah said she wanted to try and climb a tree

image

Then she carried on pushing her pram back

Before we left I couldn’t help take a photo the these bluebells they’re one of my favourite flowers

Every Sunday we cook dinner and Mr A’s parents always joins us

Coming up with different things each week can be hard but this sunday is different because Mr A’s mum had been ill and all she could think about was our corned beef pie

When Sam found out what we were having he said he would like to make it as he’s started to take a interest in cooking wanting learn how to make different things instead of just sticking them in the microwave

Here’s Sam making the pie

How many

Today like most Fridays it was Hannah’s swimming lesson

This week we knew she would be doing her 800m so when we arrived she was all set

The only problem we was having trouble getting her swimming hat to stay on

They all have to wear them now and  there all different colours depending on which stage there at

Hannah’s on the last hat which is purple but this week it just wouldn’t stay on in the end her swimming teacher sorted it out and she was finally ready to jump in and begin

Then just as she started off her swimming teacher came up to me and said try and get her to do 40 lengths and get her 1000m meter badge as well

Now we knew that she would be doing 32 lengths so what’s 8 more so with pen and paper in hand I marked off each length as she completed them

When she got half way she started to slow down after a few words of encouragement she was back to her normal pace now we were on the count down

The final 10 lengths and near disaster her swimming hat came off I quickly grabbed it of her and she carried on like the true trooper she is nothing stopping her achieving her goal

Then we were on the final leg 5 more lengths to go by this point she had got her 800 meters and was well on her way to getting her 1000 meters

The last 2 lengths she was smiling all the way knowing that after she had finished them she would be getting not 1 but 2 badges
